The Bay Area Brain Bee is an annual neuroscience competition held at the Hayward campus of California State University East Bay. This competition is free to compete for all Bay Area high school students and is a test of knowledge about neuroscience and the nervous system. The competition aims to motivate students to learn more about the brain and foster an interest in a career in neuroscience.

Who can compete?High school students in grades 9-12 are all eligible to join. It is entirely free to compete.

What will I be tested on?All questions used in the Bay Area and National Brain Bees will be taken from the content in the Brain Facts book.

What do I win?The first place winner will receive an expense-paid trip to compete in the USA National Brain Bee.
